120V outlet has only 19V

Hi:
I was using my dishwasher a couple of nights ago and at some point it stopped working. I removed it from under the counter and plugged it to another outlet and it works fine. Measuring voltage at the electrical outlet for the dishwasher is puttting out 19V instead of 120V. I removed the outlet and tested again at the wires and still measures just 19V. What could be happening??

Sound like you have bad connection somewhere along the circuit.

Sometime the digtail meter can get a false reading so a simple neon test light will do the trick with it.

Backtrack that affected circuit somewhere along the way if you run into junction box i am sure there is a wirenut is gone bad or have poor connection there allready.

As other person mention check at the breaker that is a starting point there and go from there.

I know it will take little time but you will find the cuprit.

Shower to Tub???

Help!!! All i can find is information about converting a tub to a shower…My little girl needs a tub, is it difficult to convert? If we needed to hire someone does anyone know the cost involved??? thank you!!!

I am assuming you have a smaller shower than 60″ wide, so you will need a carpenter to adjust any walls.

The installation of the faucet and drain are pretty simple. It is just a matter of moving the pipes into the correct places before the tub goes in.

Plumbing should be less than $1000.00 including parts

Unfortunately, I have no idea on the carpenters cost

Codes minimum size and opinion

What is your opinion on putting the toilet in a separate room in the bathroom. I think that it would be a nice feature as people could use the toilet in privacy while another is taking a shower etc.

What is the minimum size the room should be if the room has one toilet and one door that opens outward. The room would be shaped like a rectangle with the toilet one one side of the room and the door on the other side opening outward. Thanks

Code says a minimum of 15″ either side of the toilet centerline - a minimum of a 30″ wide space… I don’t remember the minimum distance in front. This may mean you want either two exhaust fans or a remote fan with multiple inlets. Personally, it doesn’t bother me and cleaning a small, often dark room with a toilet can be a pain. A window in there can help.
